@blah238 Maybe you can help with the encode here?

Do you know if I can look-up the list of valid values for SHAPE_ENCODING somewhere?

comment How to use paging in a WFS query?
I tried the startIndex parameter but it seems it is not supported. I am trying to find out which Geoserver version is running there.

comment Why are some OSM GPX line string endpoints connected?
Merge selection requires to Select All before. This also selects the points. How can I select just the line which I created before in the join step?

That works good very good with Join Node to Way. Can you tell if there is a way how I can exclude the station names and just export the line itself?

How exactly can I open the XML link in JOSM (which menu item)? I have the server running on port 8011 so the application reacts when I click the JOSM link. However nothing shows up. Sry, I just did my first steps using JOSM.

comment Which format to choose to convert to ShapeFiles?
@afalciano Great. I did not know this command. - I noticed that the .dbf produced by this command is have the size compared to the ShapeFiles export from QGIS after importing the .csv as described by you before. Though, I cannot find a contentual difference.

@afalciano Does the .vrt file help me with the conversion? Still ogr2ogr -f "ESRI Shapefile" all.shp all.csv outputs the .dbf only.

Awesome! I tried this before but missed to change the column separator to semicolon. Sometimes it is that easy! Can you tell how to the same via ogr2ogr?

The point is that I have no idea which source format and conversion tool allows to separate the data columns as desired for the ShapeFiles. That is why I do not decide on a format to work with.

Add screenshot of QGIS attributes table.
