comment Using multivalue output parameter with ArcPy?
There is a question on esri forums forums.arcgis.com/threads/… (with no answer). Could you add some code to make it a little clearer? I'm not sure I understand the question still (having read this one, and the esri forum one)

comment Finding nearest raster cell value based on vector point?
@Seen you can clip a raster to a polygon. I'm not sure if you can reduce the raster area that you need to convert, before converting it to points.

Do you get an error when converting raster to points?

comment In ArcGIS Is there a tool that will select a percentage (75%) of a whole group of points based on the distance from one separate point?
@Furlong If you read the example of Spatial Join: help.arcgis.com/en/arcgisdesktop/10.0/help/index.html#//… you can get an idea how to run this in python. Then, it's a matter of running through the attribute table and choosing values that match your criteria

I did not know it was possible to spatially join points! I agree, this would be a much better way of doing it.

comment Visualizing and organizing traffic flow data for an intersection
Thanks for all the suggestions; I'm don't have all the data that I need to do some things mentioned yet, but I would like to make demos of what could be done too so these are great ideas.

comment I'm having trouble with getting a shapefile in the right projection. What am I doing wrong?
My point is that changing the projection within the shapefile, does not re-project the data.

comment Downloading OpenStreetMap Data
@Nathanus I confess I just signed up..... It's true, but it really is focusing on every little detail about OSM many of which are programming related, and not specific to GIS. Though if subsites of subsites existed it would be perfect. The fonts over here are so much crisper!

comment Open source location allocation modelling
Could you do the analysis in a software using a Cartesian system, and then just display the results? QGIS would be one free way of showing the results.

Just a note on this - it does work on the current release of QGIS that I am using (1.7), but it only allows very small areas to be downloaded.
