I currently work in a research and technology innovation role as a health informatician for a small health services company in Wellington, New Zealand. I have a background in software development, and have worked previously in senior ICT management roles. I began my professional career as a physiotherapist before changing tack into technology. I have an interest in cryptography, natural language processing and GIS.
I'm currently writing my thesis for the completion of my Master of Science degree, part time, through the University of Canterbury. I've also studied health informatics through the University of Otago, and taught for about 5 years on the academic programme.
I'm an avid squash player, and golfer, although there really don't seem to be enough fine daylight hours in Wellington for golf at the moment.
