comment Ogr2ogr not executing
Just a btw: I spent like a day finding out why similar command was not working on Windows. The syntax you posted previously would be just fine for Windows, you need to switch quotes for UNIX systems though. Dunno why, but it works.

comment Why will my field calculator python function always return Null if any inputs are Null?
Can you print out types of values when returning them using type(var)?

comment How to display distance in meters (km) and not in Decimal Degrees in QGIS 2.4?
Could you elaborate on every physical reprojection will lower the precision of your geometry? How? Why? Any sources? I'm really curious about this.

Are you aware that one degree of latitude/longitude is not exactly the same across the whole world? I guess what you are looking for is Great-circle distance. Can you share your data?

comment In OpenLayers 3, how do I draw an extent as a LinearRect?
Did you read the docs btw? Linear ring geometry. Only used as part of polygon; cannot be rendered on its own. I recommend creating a polygon or linestring instead of linearring.

Here's what I would try: Get ol.extent object. Transform it to whatever crs you need. Build an array of coordinates by calling extent.getBottomLeft(), extent.getTopLeft(), extent.getTopRight() and extent.getBottomRight(). Pass this array as input to ol.geom.LinearRing object. I guess order of mentioned functions should not matter.

Where does aoi variable come from?

Can you try with something else than LinearRing? A point will do, just to be sure we're creating the geometry right. A jsfiddle would be useful btw.

Speaking of the ST_GeomFromGeoJson function, be aware you need JSON-c support enabled for your postgis installation, otherwise it won't work (I spent almost a day this week getting it right, it was hell). If you don't compile from source, it should probably work out of the box.

Well you just make an AJAX call from JS to PHP, which queries the database and returns the result. Than you just update the map with the new data.

Could you elaborate on what you're actually after? REST, different data formats import/export or something else?
