comment Trouble Converting from a shp. to gpx file and up loading to GPS
Is there a blank at the end of Inventory_Points? Try Browsing to an output folder. Maybe you have no write permission on the default target (the program folder).

comment Running the ogr2ogr utilities in a batch file. Problems with command project
Using OSGEO4W or gisinternals SDK shell, the environment variables are always set as needed. And everything is back to normal when you leave the shell.

comment gdal_translate cannot convert MSG3 channels to TIFF
At least OSGEO4W and gisinternals builds of GDAL do not include the MSG driver.

comment USGS GeoTiff extent via GDAL
If your data is in a projection where latitude or longitude graticules appear bended, the coordinates of the four corners do NOT describe the extent of the data in lat and lon.

Have you created the subfolders before? ogr2ogr might not do that.

If you can read ecw files, the driver should work.

Try this blog entry: blog.technokrat.nl/2012/11/28/…. The download link seems to work. You might need an older version of GDAL too: gis.stackexchange.com/questions/94870/…

comment How to fix “Detected out of bounds geographic extent”
The shapefile you want to add is in a local projection. If you load it into QGIS, the CRS should be detected automatically. Then save the layer under a diffeent name, selecting EPSG:4326 as CRS, and use that for tilemill.

comment Can't get the correct version of GDAL installed to use ReadAsArray without getting error in Python
FWTools is outdated, and far behind the current GDAL version.

Yes, it is the first value. If you set all transparency to zero, you won't see anything.

comment EPSG:27493 (Datum 73) to EPSG:4326 (WGS84) conversion off by few meters
Yes, this is the right forum. But you should not expect Google imagery to be that exact. If it comes down to a few meters, you will need official measurement points to decide what is right and what is wrong.

From the same page: full opacity 255 (and no opacity for 0 value). I guess you can not mix opacity with colour names, so RGBA with four values between 0 and 255 should be best.

From the help page gdal.org/gdaldem.html#gdaldem_hillshade, the option -alpha should add a transparency band, but I have not tested it myself.

comment ogr2ogr does not set osm_id for all multipolygons
osm2pgsql uses negative ids for multipolygon relations and positive ones for closed ways. Would that approach spoil anything?

comment What is the easiest way to install a really old Nightly Build of QGIS Master (in Windows)?
No, qgis-dev has its own exe. You can copy that from the working build you mentioned above, and look out for the missing dependencies. Like trial and error, but maybe you get further with that approach.

comment What is the easiest way to install a really old Nightly Build of QGIS Master (in Windows)?
You could try to implantate the qgis-dev binaries into an old QGIS 1.8 or 2.0 standalone installation. But I have not tried that myself.

comment What is the easiest way to install a really old Nightly Build of QGIS Master (in Windows)?
Can you add which GDAL, PROJ and Python versions are reported from the running QGIS-dev? Your approach may fail if the binaries expect a dependency not available on OSGEO4W anymore.

comment How to get India OSM map offline in geoserver which looks similar to online OSM map?
I don't use Geoserver, but the original Mapnik rendering. With that, local tiles look like the original website. Maybe you should look out for better sld style files.
