Thanks, it's not exactly what I had in mind, but this actually works. You can later save the edited vrt as a normal, standalone raster. I wish this plugin had a dialog window where you could input new coordinates.

Thanks radouxju. This seems to be to appropriate solution. I'm going to do FeatureVerticesToPoints as Roland suggests on the before and after FC, to keep an eye on what really got removed.

Yes, they are collinear within the default tolerance (0.001m). Just like a line where you add a vertex with edge snapping on. Can I remove them? As in am I allowed to? Well yeah, that's the goal.
