Hmm, I expected a single line from all the points. The table has over 34000 records, I pasted 10. I realize perhaps I should have managed the track_fid (there are 22 distinct...). I probably got 34000 (one point or invisible lines) instead. I'll post what I did to finally have something appear. Many-many thanks for walking me through!

Sorry about that: the SELECT was on the line01. My bad I will edit that to correct. A SELECT count(*) FROM line01 return some 34000 records. Thanks for helping out.

@Get Spatial No I did not use the that window before, now if I do and set the spatial type to Line and SRID to 4326, it still won't show up even after recreating the VIEW. Now two line01 appear; one set correctly and another one still to be set. About the view having records, the print to stdout is shown in my post, I limited to one for readability. Anything else to try? Thanks.

@ John Barça I checked by opening a new project in "native" EPSG 4326 and no line shows up. But the track points can be vizualized

@user30184 Fabulous! Adding a constraint UNIQUE (time) on the column and thereafter adding -skipfailure to the ogr2ogr call did the trick! Many thanks!

@Simbamangu I added a bit of info on the Vim command. The commmand appearance is as ugly as it is magic... One needs to progressively build up these commands. For one-off's, I am always amazed to see how far one can get with a good text editor.
