comment How does manual Label Placement in QGIS 1.9 work?
Actually, I just figured it out. You must have a column set so that the "Show Label" option is data defined. Integer seems to work fine, with 1 meaning visible, and 0 meaning hidden.

Great! I had all of that figured out already, but couldn't figure out the 'pinning' concept. It turns out that when you manually modify a label, it is 'pinned' and then you can modify it as SS_Rebelious says. The only part I don't understand is the "Show/Hide" labels tool, which I cannot get to activate. Perhaps because I already specified "Show all labels"?

comment Are there any COGO tools in QGIS 1.9+?
Thanks. Unfortunately, I've played with m.cogo in GRASS, and it's a bit 'clunky' for our needs. I need something that is quick and has a minimum of steps in order to roll out to a 'production' environment. m.cogo would work if it was a less frequently used task, but alas it's something we do often.

What type of file are you trying to edit? Shapefile?

You may consider splitting this into multiple questions, as I'm not sure what spatial clustering has to do with proportional symbols.

Thanks SaultDon; I tried it in 1.8, and it works fine! Figures! Sorry for all the hassle, and thanks for your time! Now, I just need to learn a bit about R! :)

Thanks SaultDon; I'm still having no luck. I deleted .qgis2 and re-set the R Folder and am getting the same error.

comment How to symbolize features in QGIS?
QGIS does indeed have a 'similar feature' in the way of a (more open/standard) SLD format, or their own .qml format.

comment Setting “R Folder” Path in QGIS Sextante
Interesting; I have both a .qgis and a .qgis2 folder in my users directory. I renamed the sextante folder in .qgis, and nothing changed. I renamed the one in .qgis2, and a new setante folder was created, leading me to believe it is using .qgis2 - however, this still did not work after resetting the R Folder path in the options menu. Perhaps there's something about the qgis2 folder that is causing issues? Are these folders auto-created? Can I just delete both and start fresh?

I installed both 32 and 64 bit versions of R, and tried with the "Use 64 bit version" option box checked and unchecked, in the Sextante options, with no luck.

Thanks Don. When I run a script, I don't get the message you show. I get: "Missing dependency. This algorithm cannot be run :-( It seems that R is not correctly installed in your system. Please install it before running R Scripts." I am new at R, but I think managed to install rgdal and SP from the R GUI directly (not sure how via command line), and they appear to have worked. Opening QGIS again results in the same error as above.
