I would suggest choosing a lambert equal area projection, centered roughly in the middle of your fishing zone:

+proj=laea +lat_0=60 +lon_0=0 +x_0=0 +y_0=0 +ellps=GRS80 +towgs84=0,0,0,0,0,0,0 +units=m +no_defs
