How to average a gpsGPS tracks?

I have a gpsGPS data - pointspoint cloud ins Shape filein a shapefile. Now iI want to average this data and get on output a single gpsGPS track.
Here i Here I found fine images but cantcan't find algorithm maybe. Maybe gdal or postgis can do it? Any advisesadvise?
