def geom_type():
    
    shapefile_location = r"E:\Cameron\Python\GDAL\SHP\Cadastral_Parcels\Parcels.shp"
    shapefile = ogr.Open(shapefile_location)
    layer = shapefile.GetLayer()

    for feature in layer:
        geometry = feature.GetGeometryRef()
        print(geometry.GetGeometryName())
        
geom_type()
