Do you have a list file named "myList.txt"? If you used the command from above the file is "my_input_file_list.txt"? Also, if you read the example from gdal.org/gdalbuildvrt.html the documented syntax is gdalbuildvrt -input_file_list my_list.txt doq_index.vrt , so file list first, name of the output vrt last.

Jan 19, 2018 at 11:05 | comment | added | AWGIS | @RobertoRibeiro I get an error 1: no input data set specified. This was after running: C:\Users\{my name}\Desktop\OS Raster\Vector Map District Raster\data>gdalbuildvrt output.vrt -input_file_list myList.txt
Jan 18, 2018 at 13:31 | comment | added | Roberto Ribeiro | @AGW94 Sorry, I forgot the flag. gdalbuildvrt output.vrt -input_file_list myList.txt
Jan 18, 2018 at 13:14 | comment | added | AWGIS | I get this: ERROR 4: `my_input_file_list.txt' not recognized as a supported file format. Could that mean that my image files are corrupt?
Jan 18, 2018 at 12:59 | comment | added | Roberto Ribeiro | @AGW94 gdalbuildvrt output.vrt my_input_file_list.txt
Jan 18, 2018 at 12:45 | comment | added | AWGIS | So once I have run that command what do I then need to input? I can see that the list has been created.
