Mar 18, 2022 at 6:02 | comment | added | Güray Hatipoğlu | shapefile.Writer() part expects path to save the shapefile in Python 3 on. Unfortunately, ALL pyshp related solutions to this shapefile creating issue is on Python 2.
Aug 3, 2019 at 5:46 | comment | added | George | Thank you for this. I will try again with this part of code and I come back to let you know. At the moment I filled out the table with data from dg and I can merge them since it is my purpose.

I tried my code out in Windows without any success. I searched for possibles issues and it is probably due a bug in pyshp module (bug is referred in several comments). This line: w=shapefile.Writer(shapefile.POLYLINE) produces an unexpected AttributeError. This error is not produced in old python 2.7 with old versions of pyshp. I suggest to use another module instead pyshp.

Aug 1, 2019 at 17:33 | comment | added | xunilk | I ran it in python console of QGIS 2,18 installed in a Linux Debian 8 stable. In QGIS 3.4, in a Linux Debian 9 stable, there is an issue with pyshp module (reported bug). What kind of systen do you use?
