I do not know how far MariaDB is from MySQL nowadayd, but it looks that MySQL does not have any better spatial functions for your need dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/spatial-function-reference.html. SpatiaLite has the direct ST_MinX function what you were after gaia-gis.it/gaia-sins/spatialite-sql-latest.html. | |
