Removed python wrapper around SQL statement as question is only about spatial SQL; Changed table names in text to correspond to code.

@MerseyViking so I used a system of 4326 to construct the geometries (i.e. ALTER TABLE `Table2` ADD COLUMN `geom` Geometry; UPDATE `Table2` SET geom = ST_GeomFromText(coordinates, 4326) ) But for the POINT generation, I didn't use a projection (i.e. POINT(table1.`longitude`, table1.`latitude`) ). Are you saying I should add 4326 into my Point Generation too?

@Mapperz that's correct but I have two type of geometries in my ST_WITHIN function: (i) POINT(table1.`longitude`, table1.`latitude`) converts it to a geom type object, and (ii) the Polygon object (stored in my table2)

Apr 6, 2022 at 1:08 | comment | added | Mapperz♦ | You will need to have geometry in both tables to be able to use ST_WITHIN mariadb.com/kb/en/st-within ST_WITHIN(g1,g2) >Returns 1 or 0 to indicate whether geometry g1 is spatially within geometry g2. | |
