Mar 2, 2013 at 15:24 | comment | added | gsherman | Did you do a make install and try to run it from the installed directory? If not, use ccmake .. to set the CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX to a path in your home directory (e.g. /home/gsherman/qgis_1.8), then do the install. | |

I downloaded the 1.8 source, extracted it into a new folder, compiled it in a created build folder after calling "cmake ..". I now have an output folder and if i try to run the qgis bin in a terminal (exporting paths before), i still get a segmentation fault: **** VERSION 10800 Warning: !!! prefix path was requested, but it is not valid - we do not run from installed path !!!
