Import of OSM data into PostgreSQL with osm2pgsql polygon problem

Question

I've mananged to import my great-britain osm file successfully into postgres and I can query everything fine.

osm2pgsql -s -j -G -l --number-processes 8 -K -U james -C 10000 -d osm myfile.osm

I'm trying to extract (amongst other things) is a set of data including national parks and their hiking routes. My problem is one particular area in osm (snowdonia national park) which consists of an inner boundary and an outer boundary seems to be missing the outer boundary which means the corresponding polygon entry comes up with an incorrect boundary.

The geojson I get from the query for this particular polygon seems to be incomplete, I wonder if anyone knows where I'm doing wrong.

Osm2PgSql will only import polygons into the planet_polygon table if they are closed. You may find the missing data in the planet_lines table

Use OverPass Turbo or OSm to get the osm_id of the missing geometry and search for it in the polygons and lines table's. This will tell you if they were actually imported. If they are not in those tables, they were never imported so you need to go back to your source data.

You can then query both tables and join close the geometry in the ways if need be using PostGIS.
