I have a kml file showing a dodecahedron stretched across the surfce of a globe, which I downloaded here: http://montalk.net/cgi-bin/coordinates.py
I would like to re-project this dodecahedron so I can create tiles for a world globe. However, the file just consists of straight line segments between the vertices, so the lines no longer follow their geodesic / great circle paths across the surface of the map when re-projected onto a flat map.
I run QGIS (and Google Earth).
How should I go about modifying this file so that the edges of the pentagons follow the correct great circle arc path across the surface of the map whatever projection they are in?
