I have a set of points (shp file, count 30) with a time/date for each record in the attribute table. These are waypoints of a bird observation. I wan't to create a KML fly over "tour" of the route so it;

A) follows the route AND B) shows the time in the time slider.

This is because the time of day is useful to know and also the position of the bird at this time.

It's kind of a combination of the time slider and the tour functionality of Google Earth. I can use Google Earth Pro. I am using ArcGIS for Desktop to manage the gis data.

Any ideas?

    I'm not clear on what you're asking. You need a line from points in ArcGIS? Points to Line tool with date as sort field. You need that as a KML? Layer to KML tool. Are you wanting to do the animation within ArcGIS or Google Earth? Exactly how should the animation work? Do you want the line to 'draw' across a map? Show a point moving along the line? Have points appear in order? Fixed map view or moving view? Have the view (camera) follow along a line? • I think it's perfectly clear what the OP wants. Is use of R an option, it's pretty straightforward to do this. AI is not really suited for this kind of work – mdsumner Apr 11 '15 at 21:48
