If I want to get data on the elevation around the city of Artyrom (region around 132.159633, 43.350116), which elevation data source has the data with the highest precision for that region?

I found

  1. SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography) mission, which allegedly has a resolution of 30 meters (but I couldn't find the data set for Artyom at their web site , only for Africa).
  2. Routine ASTER Global Digital Elevation Model seems to be even better (10-25 meters precision).

Are there any better alternatives?

To get data (ASTER or SRTM) from your first link, on the left click the decimal button in the middle section and then click add coordinate. Once added, at the bottom click the data sets button. Click the plus next to Digital Elevation in the list, and then the plus next to SRTM. Check the boxes next to ASTER and SRTM 1 Arc. Then click Results at the bottom. Agree to terms. On the left will show results. Click the footprint icon to zoom and highlight coverage of the result on the map. You must change the Dataset dropdown box to switch between ASTER and SRTM. – Chris W Jul 18 '15 at 17:26

Also keep in mind that 30m and 10-25m are SRTMs and ASTERs pixel spacing, not their height accuracy. – Kersten Jul 18 '15 at 21:28
