I need to identifying polylines which are overlapping with each other and deleting them which is smaller in length in Oracle Spatial.

  • If you do not get a suitable answer for Oracle Spatial please ask your second question about ArcGIS for Desktop (which I removed to prevent it being too broad) separately. – PolyGeo Dec 16 '15 at 19:38
  • You need to clarify what you mean by "overlapping". Is it like the lines have to be on top of each other ? The basis for solving this is to use the SDO_JOIN() function to get a list of all couples of lines that overlap. Then, assuming that multiple lines can overlap each other, retain the shortest one from all those. – Albert Godfrind Dec 18 '15 at 11:40
