I just tried to use Dynamic Legends in ArcGIS Pro 1.2 and have not been able to find them in either the application or its documentation.

I expected to find them as something like an Only show classes that are visible in the current map extent checkbox on an Items tab in the Legend properties, like there is in ArcMap.

A GeoNet thread confirmed that they were absent from the first version (presumably 1.0).

Has anyone found them in ArcGIS Pro 1.2, or know when they are expected to be added?

Dynamic Legends were just added at 1.4!

Unfortunately Dynamic Legends are not there yet in Pro 1.2. Things look promising for getting them into 1.3, although some things like some auto-sizing options are more likely 1.4. And of course no guarantees on either for 1.3... we try to ship Pro on a schedule, and if something isn't ready, it has to wait for the next train departure, hopefully no longer than 5-6 months away.

  • one word for what I'd like to see in 1.3 - "Geometric Networks"! oh maybe that was two words. – Midavalo Mar 10 '16 at 6:36
  • The Utility Network will be coming in a future version of Pro. The latest info about it is being presented at the DevSummit this week. You should be able to find a video of that session posted sometime in the next couple of weeks: "Insight into the New Utility Network" devsummit.schedule.esri.com/#schedule/56b2875b4be5dd46a300035c/… – poiprotocol Mar 10 '16 at 6:49
