My computer has been running Windows 10 for almost a year and I haven't noticed issues with ArcGIS until the most recent update. Now the search window in 10.3.1 is not opening when I click the icon. There is no indication that ArcGIS is doing anything or recognizing the action in any way.

  • I'm assuming by "Search Tool" you mean the Search window rather than the Find Tool. – PolyGeo Aug 23 '16 at 20:10
  • It looks like you are using a certified configuration: desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.3/get-started/… – PolyGeo Aug 23 '16 at 20:12
  • If you have been using two monitors perhaps check that it is not currently off the one you are using. – PolyGeo Aug 23 '16 at 20:16
  • I'm using only one monitor. – Neil Aug 23 '16 at 20:34
  • unfortunately same problem on 10.4.1... – Japan Jul 13 '17 at 7:04

I could not figure out a way to fix this problem in 10.3.1 so I ended up uninstalling ArcGIS. I then updated to 10.4 and it was no longer an issue.
