I created a path in Google Earth, but when I outputted the data in KML format the lat/lon/altitude records were as follows:

The heights are all listed as zeroes. I need the altitudes. Is there a way to get the altitudes in the KML?

I have no Terrain option in my layers panel. I have 3D rendering turned on:

Reset to default

You need to make sure that the Terrain under Layers Panel is checked first before drawing the path to get the Z elevation, as you can see below:

  • There is no terrain option in my layers panel. I have updated my question to show this. I am using Google Earth version 7.1.

  • I am using Google Earth Pro version 7.1.2.2041, which is free also.
