enter image description hereenter image description hereI have a tif file whose gdalinfo provides the above displayed information which is geographically projected and I have to assign Mercator 2SP projection to it. So I created lat.vrt, lon.vrt and data.vrt and removed GCPs from all and inserted geolocation information in data.vrt as suggested in this question Unable to warp HDF5 files. the final command that I used to warp the files is as follows:

gdalwarp -geoloc -t_srs "+proj=merc +a=6378137 +b=6356752.3142 +lat_ts=17.75 +lon_0=75 +x_0=0 +y_0=0 +datum=WGS84 +units=m +no_defs" -overwrite PRNS.vrt proj_new.tif

ERROR 1: Line 104: VRTDataset> doesn't have matching VRTDataset>

PRNS.vrt is the vrt file of my data. Can anyone tell how to solve this error?

  • Can you edit your question and provide gdalinfo output for your original tiff. – user2856 Dec 1 '17 at 7:07
  • The gdalinfo also prints out all the GCPs and the GCPs are in geographic coordinate system. Also the tif file was created from GPM 2AKu product which was in hdf5 format. gdal_translate was used to convert it into tif. – rao Dec 1 '17 at 8:21

  • There is still a <GCPList Projection entry which should be removed too. Otherwise try relative paths in the same folder relativeToVRT="1". – AndreJ Dec 2 '17 at 10:58
