I am using ArcGIS 10.6. I have the aspect (raster file) for the roof of buildings at the city scale. Now I want to calculate the area of each aspect group per building. I tied zonal statistics, zonal geometry and etc . Also reclassified the aspect layer and tried to add the Building ID. But I didn't get the desired result. Is there a way to do that? Kindly see the attached enter image description here

  • I think the best approach would be to use the reclassify tool to create an output with the classes you would like. This should create a COUNT field in the attribute table which indicates the number of pixels for that class. You can then calculate area based on your coordinate system. – AWGIS Jul 19 '18 at 12:24
  • Thanks, but this will give a total sum of areas per class. As I explained I want to calculate the area of each class/ building. – sawsan Jul 19 '18 at 14:48
  • Reclassify aspect first, use tabulate area tool. – FelixIP Jul 20 '18 at 1:35
