I have about 200 different point categories. I want to order all these categories with one background SVG and one for the front. One solution is to categorize the points depending on one attribute field and after that change to rule based ordering the icons. But this caused many clicks. Is it possible to do this without so many clicks? Path and the icon name is also in a attribute field.

I don't see the function overrride. now i try it, but it doesn't work. i get question marks on each position.

Yes, when you select SVG marker on the Symbology, there is a link to the SVG symbol file appears at the bottom of the window. At the right-hand-side of the filename, there is a Data defined override icon. Select the attribute field you have stored the path and the icon filename in this drop-down menu.
