I have an AutoCAD file which i want to open in QGIS as a shapefile.

In QGIS the coordinate reference system is WGS84 EPSG:4326 but I do not know how to make my AutoCAD drawing in same coordinate system and how to set coordinate of the drawing i have already made so that when i import the file it comes on the same place.

  • You should know what spacial reference system (SRS) your AutoCAD drawing is. QGIS can on the fly reproject data to any other supported SRS. If it is a local Cartesian coordinate system (as often usual in CAD drawings) first you have transform it to a SRS what is supported in QGIS. – Zoltan Dec 30 '18 at 13:22
