I need to input geojson files into a model and one of the algorithms, dissolve, doesn't work with geojson files resulting in an 'Invalid geometry' error. Exporting and saving over 1000 files as shapefiles makes the project unpractical.

I am sure there are other algorithms that don't work with geojson as well so one workaround probably won't be enough.

  • Can you elaborate on "doesn't work with geojson files"? What happens? – ndawson Jan 11 at 19:27
  • I get a "Feature has invalid geometry" error. It works when converted to shapefile. – brink Jan 11 at 19:39
  • Does the GeoJSON pass the GeoJSONLint validator – nmtoken Jan 11 at 20:02
  • No, It requires a pass key to download, does that make a difference? Here is the error. (Line 0: Parse error on line 1: mfs.micello.c ^ Expecting 'STRING', 'NUMBER', 'NULL', 'TRUE', 'FALSE', '{', '[', got 'INVALID') – brink Jan 11 at 20:05

You can turn off geometry validation from the options - processing settings. – ndawson Jan 12 at 22:27
