I've tried finding similar questions with no luck, so I apologize if this has been asked already. I have an observed temperature raster and a model analysis temperature raster. In places where there are few stations I'm trying to use the model temperature instead.

I've done this successfully using GDAL. However, a problem with this seems to be discontinuities every now and then, where the edges of the two rasters meet. I've tried a low-pass filter and this helps a little bit, but still get areas like the attached image.

How do I fix this?

I don't see the discontinuities. Can you repost your image with the problem highlighted? – Stu Smith Jan 31 at 21:41
  • @StuSmith Ok, I reuploaded. It doesn't look very discontinuous, but these are daily maximum temperatures, so there shouldn't be a gradient this tight. – Judson Buescher Feb 1 at 16:44
