I am mapping conical shaped depressions on the seafloor and would like to know at what resolution of the DEM is my mapping accuracy affected by. For example if I have a DEM of 7 metres, what does the diameter/size of the depression need to be in order for me to accurately identify and map it.
I have attempted to investigate the problem by creating a 250m diameter conical shaped depression of my own using the 'polyline' shapefile to create contours, then using the 'Topo to raster' tool to create the expression of this. Now I know exactly how large this feature is, now i just need to try and map it where the same feature is gridded at a variety of resolutions. Within the tool I have set the output cell size to 1 - 60. Is this achieving what I am looking for?
