I'm looking for a resource we can use as a network dataset in the ArcGIS Network Analyst to calculate drive/walking times from locations to the nearest transportation hubs (Roads & Highways, Local Transit Systems - Bus, Subway, Trains)

I was thinking ESRI Streetmap Premium, but that doesn't have any local transit.

I'm trying to determine if anyone has ever used the Bing Maps API or the Google Maps API as a networked dataset in the Network Analyst Extension? I've tried finding an example, but haven't had much luck.

  • You seem to be seeking a list of network data sources and services. – PolyGeo Feb 23 at 5:42
  • PolyGeo, I edited the question, can we please re-open. – ChisumTrail Mar 5 at 15:48
  • For me to vote to re-open I would like to see the steps you would use to incorporate Esri StreetMap Premium described so that you can then show that one (not both in the same question) of Google/Bing Maps APIs cannot simply be plugged into the same workflow. – PolyGeo Mar 5 at 19:11
  • Polygeo why would I incorporate ESRI Streetmap Premium ? It does NOT have the local transit methods I am looking for, hence why I said that. – ChisumTrail Mar 5 at 20:14
  • I'm trying to help you focus your question. Another way may be to describe in detail your research steps into trying to hook either of your candidate APIs into Network Analyst. If you had a rep of 20 you could ask a broad question in the GIS Chat Room. – PolyGeo Mar 5 at 22:04
