Fairly new to QGIS here. I'm having trouble creating a heat map in QGIS3 from a set of points. I've followed what others have done online (e.g.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9Gqrr5cYrY) but in my case I keep getting an output that is completely incorrect. (I'm not sure if this relevent, but it takes about 5 min to process the (incorrect) raster, whereas for other people I've seen it should take a few seconds... I'm running a fairly fast machine). I have my projections set to my local UTM, so I don't think that's the issue. In the short term I've created a heatmap in the symbology, but this is very limiting for what I need it to do (e.g. class breaks, etc)

Does anyone know how to fix it?

The image is out of scale so much that you can't see the individual points
