I am trying to create an animation of data using pro. To create the animation steps I am using the range slider to iterate through each step. The range is set using a numeric value (long). I have a second field (text, 50) that I would like to use as an alias for displaying dynamic text in the animation. When I set the range to the numeric field the alias drop down option activates, but no fields are populated. Further the expression builder option does not provide a list of fields either. So far as I can tell i have followed the instructions at https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/range/set-the-range-properties-on-a-layer.htm to the letter.

Anyone have experience with this issue and know of a good fix?

Edit: for anyone who might come across this, here is some additional information that "answers" the question. The range alias function only works with mosaic datasets with a range of less than 100 steps. This is not documented on the range properties link posted originally above, but was mentioned in the range slider tutorial video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oUMmx-gMlc at 0:45.

Unless ESRI increases the range step alias limit in some future update, the current solutions is to subdivide datasets into <= 100 step batches.
