Using python in ArcCatalog 10.6 I am trying to apply symbology to a line density layer. I sliced the density map into 9 segments and that is how I want to apply symbology from a predefined layer. It also is classified into 9 segments. Both using numbers 1-9. The trouble is for some reason I can't get the density map to be recognized by the "apply symbology" tool. Specifically the error message is "ERROR 000732: Input Features: Dataset this file does not exist or is not supported Failed to execute (MakeFeatureLayer)." I have tried calling it using "make raster layer, save to layer file, copy raster, and out of desperation I tried make feature layer. ArcGIS definitely recognizes it as a raster but wouldn't apply the new symbology. It creates the density map for sure. I have even manually applied the symbology in arcmap. What work arounds am I not thinking of?
