I want to set up for the first time an environment with PyCharm to write scripts for QGIS on my Ubuntu desktop and I'm completely lost.

I'm not having problems with the console on QGIS, but I couldn't use PyQGIS on my PyCharm projects the same way I did with pandas package e.g.

Apparently there are some tutorials using Windows but they fail in this case because I really don't know how to adjust for Ubuntu. For example: Set up PyCharm for PyQGIS 3 development. I couldn't find a way to do this with Ubuntu.

Python version: 3.7.4

PyCharm version: 2019.3.3 (Community eddition)

QGIS version: 3.4.10

Ubuntu version: 19.10

  • Please be more specific when you say "tutorials fail" and "couldn't use PyQgis". What are your trying to do? What happens when you try? Are there error messages? etc. – Erik Mar 17 at 6:58
  • Thanks, I will edit. – Rik Ferreira Mar 18 at 0:12
