Does anyone know if there are PostgreSQL database modeling software or apps that support PostGIS geometry data types? I know pgModeler is supposed to but I have been unable to get this installed.

  • pgModeler is the best... what platform are you running that you can't get it installed? – DPSSpatial May 13 at 21:37
  • Just regular old Windows 10. I've tried the 32-bit and 64-bit demo installers. The 64-bit does nothing when I try to run it and the 32-bit causes a windows smarscreen warning which just says "This app can't run on your PC. To find a version for your PC please check with the software publisher" – Engman May 13 at 23:31

You might try using DBeaver to generate ER Diagrams. Geometry is recognized:

  • Yes recommend this tool (it is actively updated as well), supports most major DB and ER diagrams can also copy schema's from (Oracle to PostgreSQL or other) – Mapperz May 14 at 3:52
  • Thanks I'll check it out. I actually ended up compiling pgModeler myself because I thought DBeaver was paid only but I see they have a community version too so I'll check that out. – Engman May 14 at 8:27

It seems there are at least two solutions:

pgModeller available here: https://pgmodeler.io

or

dBeaver available here: https://dbeaver.io/download/
