My dataset contains the beginning and ending points of certain street segments in a city.

I used Points to Path to create a line between the two. What I want to do is use Points along geometry to create points in those segments that correspond to the number of lamp posts (which I know).

However I can't do this because the paths I created don't seem to be geocoded. That is, in the distance is measured in degrees instead of miles or km. I've tried using reproject layer, but still after doing that nothing changes.

Thank you for any help!

  • Welcome to Geographic Information Systems! Welcome to GIS SE! We're a little different from other sites; this isn't a discussion forum but a Q&A site. Your questions should as much as possible describe not just what you want to do, but precisely what you have tried and where you are stuck trying that. • Geocoded mearly means located somewhere - I think you mean projected. – Ian Turton Jun 25 at 19:19
  • How did you reproject your layer - and to what output CRS (should be a projected one). One way of reprojecting is right click the layer - export - save feature as... and set a suitable CRS – babel Jul 5 at 21:13
