I will be thankful if someone can help in extracting the number of points with attributes using the grids. For example I want to know number of species points in a grid with attributes. I have ArcGIS and QGIS software

  • Spatial Join would be a good place to start, tagging your points with the grid identifier. If your grid is a GRID you will first need to convert it to polygons, use raster to polygon to do this. After you have tagged your points with the unique grid reference number you can create tabular statistics with the Summary Statistics tool. – Michael Stimson Jul 1 '20 at 7:24
  • Welcome to GIS SE! As a new user be sure to take the Tour to learn about our focussed Q&A format. Please decide which of QGIS and ArcGIS Desktop you wish to ask about within this question so that it and its answers can be focussed on what you have tried and where you are stuck. The other should be edited out, and you can always ask about the other one in a separate question. Your questions should as much as possible describe not just what you want to do, but precisely what you have tried and where you are stuck trying that. – PolyGeo Jul 1 '20 at 8:12
  • Are you wanting to use a vector grid or a raster grid? Are you using ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap, and if you're wanting to use a raster grid are you licensed for Spatial Analyst? – PolyGeo Jul 1 '20 at 8:14
