After encountering the reported bug in 3.16 + Qt 5.9.5 (https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/issues/39693), I tried to remove and reinstall and got the broken dependencies below.

user@dell: sudo apt install qgis qgis-plugin-grass

Was able to fix by adding the sources below using the thread Can't install QGIS 3.x on Ubuntu 18.04

deb https://qgis.org/ubuntugis/ bionic main

deb-src https://qgis.org/ubuntugis/ bionic main

  • I was still left with the 3.16 version working as before with the existing bug when clicking the Symbology on a raster layer. How can I revert to 3.10 ? I tried to replace deb https://qgis.org/ubuntugis bionic main deb-src https://qgis.org/ubuntugis bionic main with deb https://qgis.org/ubuntugis-ltr bionic main deb-src https://qgis.org/ubuntugis-ltr bionic main but hat did not help. Version 3.16 remains. Any pointers? Tnx!

  • You can disable qgis.org completelyin your sources, remove and autoremove QGIS packages. Then you can use apt-cache policy qgis to see that ubuntugis unstable has version 3.10.12 (at least now).
