I am quite new to SDM. I am doing distribution modelling of two newts species which involves predictors as vegetation cover, distance to roads or forest, soil moisture and others. According to some literatures, ponds that are close to forest (maybe 100 meters) supported presence of newts and ponds that are far away from forest did not support presence of newts.

So, how to include this as predictor in the model by creating raster?

  • You may need to refine your post to include only one question. That said, for literature, have you searched on Google-Scholar? scholar.google.com/… – Keggering Jun 10 at 21:09
  • Yes, I have been looking through google scholar. Thank you. – Bandana Adhikari 2 days ago

What is your study area? Data availability differs based on region, a literature review for your study site would help you understand the sort of data that has been used till date. Standard bioclimatic variables can be downloaded from here at different resolutions, they can be clipped according to your study area. Similarly land cover data can also be found here. This tutorial might help.
