PostgreSQL 13.3 PostGIS 3.1.1 QGIS 3.16.8 QField

I am conducting trials in order to develop a strategy for doing field work using QField.

I have a point feature class living in a PostgreSQL/PostGIS database. I load the data to a QGIS map and prepare the QField data files. These are uploaded to my cell phone and I do my fieldwork without a glitch; new points are collected and pre-existing points are edited/moved/deleted. The QField data files are then transferred back to the desktop.

When I attempt to sync the data back to PostgreSQL/PostGIS database, new points are promptly created. However, edits fail to be replicated back in the database, i.e. pre-existing points that have been edited/moved/deleted in the field are not updated in the database.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to deal with this problem?

  • Does this behavior have anything to do with the Primary Key and/or Spatial Index defined for the feature class? – Agamemnon Jun 27 at 17:41
