Extracting point data from WMS using R. Is it possible?

Question

I am collecting traffic accident data on European countries and the Austrians pointed me to this WMS metadata page.

which has the link

Is is possible to retrieve the underlying point data using R? I'm not interested in displaying it on a map (but I can't even figure out how to do that).

I'm interested in the layers unfall_koord_2017 - unfall_koord_2020.
