For some reason my 'project properties' button has disappeared for good. I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 and QGIS 1.8.

Sometimes it would straight up disappear, to return later, but now its just 'gone'.

I'll try to re-install, but has anyone else noticed this?

I have uninstalled the QT framework (to combat some bugs in QGIS and Scribus).

  • From which button are you speaking? Per default you can open the project properties by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+P – Curlew Dec 11 '12 at 19:59
  • I don't know the why, but I can confirm this, there is no "Project Properties" in Settings. Other alternative to CTRL+SHIFT+P, is clicking on the bottom right globe icon. – Alexandre Neto Dec 11 '12 at 23:05
  • Curlew: I am speaking of the File > Project Properties option... – DPSSpatial_BoycottingGISSE Dec 11 '12 at 23:30
  • Alexandre: great tip re. the globe button!!! thank you! – DPSSpatial_BoycottingGISSE Dec 11 '12 at 23:32
  • Just want to follow up that at Ubuntu 12.04.1 and QGIS 1.8.0, the option "FILE > PROJECT PROPERTIES" has disappeared completely... – DPSSpatial_BoycottingGISSE Jan 28 '13 at 19:00

The bug was reported here: http://hub.qgis.org/issues/4434 and is already fixed in QGIS Master.

The installation of QGIS Master under Ubuntu is described here: http://qgismalaysia.blogspot.de/2012/04/ubuntu-1204-qgis-1990-installation.html
