I created a 300 meter buffer around public green space in the city Breda. I want to calculate the percentage of people living within this buffer per neighbourhood compared to people living outside the buffer. The end result should show per neighbourhood a score of residents living within the 300m buffer to greenery.

How can I calculate this?

I have information per neighbourhood on the amount of inhabitants.

  • As long as you only have inhabitants per neigbbourhood (thus: attribute data for polygon layers), I don't see how you could achive that. First get raster data showing the distribution of population, then perform Zonal statistics.

Population experts cringe when folks try to disaggregate polygon population values into arbitrary polygons, because population is not uniformly distributed.
