I need to print a map to 1:480 scale but have the map fill in a 24in x 36in paper. I'm trying to print a map of a parcel with a building lot and contours, however too much of the surrounding area is showing up, I just need it on a specific parcel but to the scale stated above. The data frame is set to a fixed scale of 1:480, and that seems to include too much of the surrounding area and leaves a good deal of white space. Additionally, I can't seem to zoom in with the fixed scale. Does anyone have any ideas? The red circle in the attached photo highlights the area that I need focused on. The photo is a screen grab of the layout view with the layout set for 24in x 36in

  • It seems to me that if you have a fixed paper size and a specified scale then you also specify the extent of the map shown. If you want to "zoom in" (i.e. show a smaller areal extent) then you need to change one or the other.
