Your polygon has 3 coordinates including a Z. Drop z

sf_object = sf::st_zm(sf_object)

By the way your polygon is covering dozens of tiles. It means you are going to load in memory dozen of square kilometers of point cloud. Not a good idea imo.

  • Oh, thanks for bringing up the memory issue, I haven't received any memory errors as of yet. But, should I split the polygon into smaller polygons and clip smaller chunks one by one? Mar 16, 2023 at 14:36

    I guess that ultimately you do not really want to get the subset but rather you may want to process the subset. Please ask a new question and be specific on what you want to achieve.
