I’m having an issue with ArcGIS Pro where every time I create a line using the "Create" tool and finish it, the line disappears. The only way to make the line reappear is to hit "Save" from the Edit tab and refresh the program. However, this workaround is not ideal, as my workflow requires the lines to be visible in real-time as I draw them.

I’ve tested creating lines in the same file on a different computer, and everything works fine. The issue only happens on this specific computer.

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows a solution to fix this issue?

Do you have symbology applied by unique values of some attribute? This will happen if a symbol has not been defined for Other Values and you digitize a new feature without filling in that attribute.

  • @lambertj I don't believe the issue is with the layer or symbology settings, as the .apx file was provided by my professor, and I have tested drawing lines in the same file on a different computer, where everything worked perfectly. The lines only disappear when I work on this specific computer. Commented 2 days ago
  • Is there a definition query on the layer? A query may exclude new features from being displayed. Commented 2 days ago

What do you mean by "refresh the program"? Does this mean quit ArcGIS Pro, and restart it? Or something else? Commented 2 days ago
  • Quitting and reopening ArcGIS Pro may fix the issue. However, this issue has come when I've had my APRX Coordinate System and Feature Class Coordinate System set to two different CS's. For example, I've had a 3TM 114 on my Shapefile and WGS 84 set on my APRX. Might be worthwhile to project your data or change your APRX Coordinate System.
