I am working on a Java swings based GIS application to project my tiff image as maps . But each time I run my application I get Illegal argument: "semiMajorAxis=�" . The tiff images I have are working fine with QuantumGIS. Below is the complete exception log

Basically your tif has broken projection information in it. The simplest answer is to fix it with gdal_transform

gdaltransform -s_srs epsg:4326 -t_srs epsg:4326 infile.tif outfile.tif

    gdaltransform is for coordinate conversion. I guess you meant gdal_translate, using -a_srs to apply a valid CRS. – AndreJ Sep 26 '17 at 6:03
