Extracting single band from multiple band raster with PyQGIS?
Your path appears to be incorrect. I believe you would want something like
"gdal_translate -b 1 " raster_input_dir + "/" + raster_filename + " " + outputDir +
"/" + lyr.name() + "test.ecw"
